Ingredients

  • 2 shots Espresso Or ½ cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla syrup To flavor the coffee base
  • ½ cup Milk Whole, almond, or oat
  • ¼ cup Heavy cream For whipping the thick top layer
  • 1 tablespoon Cherry syrup For drizzling
  • 3 whole Fresh cherries With stems, for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Espresso machine Or a strong coffee maker
  • 1 Handheld Frother To whip the cream thickly
  • 1 Ribbed Mug For a beautiful presentation

Method

  1. Brew the espresso and stir in the vanilla syrup until completely dissolved.
  2. Mix the espresso with the ½ cup of milk and pour into a short serving mug to form the tan base layer.
  3. Using a milk frother, whip the heavy cream until it is very thick and holds soft peaks.
  4. Spoon the thick whipped cream gently over the coffee base, filling the mug to the brim to create a distinct white layer.
  5. Drizzle the cherry syrup over the center of the cream and garnish with three whole fresh cherries.

Notes

Whip your heavy cream until it holds soft, thick peaks so it rests perfectly on top of the coffee base without mixing in, creating beautiful distinct layers.
