Method
- Pack your ribbed lowball glasses completely to the absolute brim with fine ice chips to build a dense structural floor grid.
- Pour the light rum, fresh pineapple juice, thick mango nectar, and lime juice directly into a cocktail shaker tin with ice cubes.
- Shake the mixture vigorously for fifteen full seconds until the outside of the metal shaker turns completely frosted and cold.
- Strain the icy-cold golden juice mixture slowly over the packed crushed ice, filling the glass to half an inch below the rim.
- Trickle the one ounce of dark rum carefully over the back of a spoon onto the top ice layer to create a layered float band.
- Slide a fresh lime wheel and orange twist against the inside glass walls, fanning them cleanly inside the ice grid.
- Position a pristine purple edible orchid and tiny yellow blossoms flat across the top ice floor, insert a metal straw, and serve cold.
Notes
Pack your serving glasses completely to the absolute brim with crushed ice to form a stable structural floor that holds the edible orchids completely dry. Float the dark rum slowly over the back of a spoon to preserve the beautiful sunset color gradient cleanly without bleeding.
