About Us

Emma Miller of the Aunty Meals recipe blog cooking in a bright home kitchen with her niece Anna, who is standing beside her holding a whisk and laughing.

Hello, I'm Emma Miller, a food chef with over 8 years of kitchen experience, and the heart behind Auntymeals. Cooking here isn't just about recipes; it's all around family stories, traditions, and a playful niece Anna who always sneaks in her own twist.

Where Aunty Teaches, Niece Learns!!

Hey there! It's Emma & Anna.

How "Aunty Meals" Began

It started on a Tuesday afternoon. Anna stopped by my house after a long day, hungry and tired. I whipped up my "Emergency Pasta" (a recipe you'll find here!), and as we sat at the kitchen table talking about life, school, and everything in between, Anna looked up and said:

"Aunty Emma, you have to write this down. If I try to make this later, I'm going to mess it up unless I have your notes!"

She was right. For over 20 years, I've been the one the family calls when they need a birthday cake, a comfort stew, or a quick dinner idea. My kitchen has always been the "safe zone"; a place where the door is always open and the oven is always on.

Aunty Meals is our digital kitchen table. It's a collection of my decades of home cooking experience, captured for Anna and now, for you.

About Our Meals & Specialty

Inclusive, Wholesome, and "Anna-Approved"

In our family, we have everyone: the health nut, the comfort eater, and the one with allergies. Because of this, I've learned to cook for every lifestyle without sacrificing flavor.

At Aunty Meals, you will find recipes tailored for:

  • The Health-Conscious: Vibrant Mediterranean salads and Vegetarian mains that pack a punch.
  • Special Diets: strict Keto, Gluten-Free, and Dairy-Free options that actually taste good (Anna is our harshest critic on these!).
  • The Comfort Seekers: Sometimes, you just need cheesy, hearty goodness.

The "Anna Test": Every recipe on this blog goes through the "Niece Test." If Anna finds the instructions too complicated, or if the flavor isn't a "10/10," it doesn't make it to the blog. We promise practical, tested reliability.

Our Cooking Methods

Old School Wisdom meets Modern Speed

I might be an Aunty, but I love my gadgets! I believe in using whatever tool gets a delicious dinner on the table so we can spend more time talking and less time washing dishes.

  • The Weeknight Heroes: We love the Air Fryer for crispy textures without the oil, and the Instant Pot for stews that taste like they simmered all day (in just 30 minutes).
  • Set It & Forget It: My Slow Cooker recipes are legendary for busy days.
  • The Classics: Of course, we do plenty of traditional Oven Baking, Grilling, and stovetop simmering.

Cuisines We Love

Traveling Through Tastebuds

Our kitchen has no borders. While we love our comforting local classics, we love to explore. You'll find:

  • Asian-Inspired: Stir-fries and noodle dishes that are better than takeout.
  • Italian Roots: Pastas and sauces made from scratch.
  • Mexican Flavors: Tacos, salsas, and vibrant spices.
  • American Comfort: Casseroles, roasts, and holiday favorites.

Meet Emma Miller (The Cook)

I am a home cook with over 25 years of experience feeding a large, loud, and hungry family. I'm not a French-trained chef; I'm a practical cook. I know what it's like to have a budget, a time limit, and picky eaters. My expertise lies in turning simple ingredients into memories.

Meet Anna (The Taster)

I'm the niece! I'm the one asking, "Can we make this cheaper?" or "Is there a faster way to chop that?" I represent you; the reader who wants great food without the stress. If I can cook Aunty Emma's recipes, anyone can.
